I was in China on business in April, 2005, so I decided to spend the weekend in Beijing and see some sites.  On Saturday I took a tour to the Great Wall (and some other stops along the way), on Sunday I saw Tianamen Square and The Forbidden City in Beijing.  Be prepared for some boring site-seeing photos!!

This is the famous Beijing Herbal Medicine Institute

We stopped for lunch at an intimate restaurant that can feed 6,000 people at a time. This is my group.

Great view of the Great Wall -- it goes on forever. 4,000 miles to be more precise.

Some sections of the wall were VERY steep.

These guys were carrying stone blocks up the wall for repairs.

They had some bears on display at the base of the wall

This one was about to catch a treat thrown by a tourist

On Sunday I took a walk to see Tianamen Square and the Forbidden City. I stopped at a park on the way. These guys were all fishing.

I watched for awhile but didn't see any fish caught.

Right after I snapped this picture, I watched a guy fall flat on hit rear.

These fruit-kebabs were dipped in sugar syrup. Looked gross.

Panarama of just one section of the Forbidden City. Almost entirely under renovation scaffolding.
