Day 5

We made it to Yellowstone.  We entered via the Northeast entrance.  We basically drove around the area we would be camping (Lamar Valley) and started spotting wildlife.  We also drove up to Mammouth Springs in northern Yellowstone.  The hot spring itself was kind of disappointing, but the town was really something.  The elk had started coming down from the higher elevations to mate and to spend the winter.  They seemed to like the lush green grass in town because they were everywhere.  The other reason we decided to drive up to Mammouth Springs is that we heard there were showers there...and we were in need of a shower by now!
