2008 UP Trip Day 2 --  On Day 2 we drove up to Houghton with 5 sleds in Dan's monster trailer.  Unloaded and rode down south to Twin Lakes and pounded the power lines around there.  There was construction in process on the power lines which made for some pretty difficult navigation, which led to several turned-over snowmobiles (or was it one snowmobile turned over several times?) and some pretty serious stucks.  I'm embarrassed to admit that the worst stuck of the day was Jon getting stuck in a mud-hole right next to the trail.

We made it back to the hotel after 95 exhausting miles.

I'm glad Dan was driving...that thing is a monster!

Ready to go...

Jon on Lake Superior.

Dave, Steve, and Chris on the lake

Deep snow

Jon got stuck bad in a mud-hole. The worst part was it was literally right next to the trail.

Worst part about getting stuck next to the trail is all the sleds that ride by and see you.

Major construction in process on our power lines...how dare they!

Jon face-planted his sled coming over a steep hill.

Logging road powder

We had to cross a huge barricade of snow. Chris was the first casualty.

Dave was next...

Here comes Steve...

oops! Actually this was Steve's favorite riding position of the day.

Here comes Chris....

oops!

More construction...Rick powering over a hill
