2008 UP Trip Day 3 --  On Day 3 we decided to ride north to Copper Harbor.  I was hesitant to head up there, because the trails can be in really bad shape up there.  But this was Steve's first trip to the UP and you just have to see Brockway Mountain and Copper Harbor on your first trip.  To my pleasant surprise, there was a ton of snow north of Houghton (actually more than there was south).  We found some great power lines and logging roads.  We could have ridden logging roads all day, but after getting all 6 sleds stuck at one time, we were too exhausted.

The Day 3 award for "Most Improved Rider" goes, without question, to Steve.  Actually from where he started on Day 1/2, he really had nowhere to go, but improve (just kidding Steve).  He didn't wipe out once the entire day.

We ended up riding about 135 miles.

Steve gung-ho for a new day

As you can see, these power lines go on forever.

All of us stuck at once...fortunately noone had a heart attack digging out.

Keweenaw snow guage

By the third day Steve's sled was starting to show a little wear-and-tear

Steve borrowed this sled for a minute.

We weren't sure if the trail went this way or not?
