Snowmobile Trail Report

Had a long day of riding today. Met up with my friend Eric, who is over on Whitefish Lake. Eric was up riding with several guys from work. We rode from Eric's area and headed up Trail 17 (the superhighway). 17 was completely snow-covered, except for one section that was a wide open field, very exposed to the wind. There was a lot of gravel exposed.
Made it all the way up to Hurley (first time I had ridden from St. Germain to Hurley). It was amazing how much snow there was in Hurley. Don't get me wrong, St. Germain area had plenty of snow and the trails were groomed to perfection, but Hurley, being in the true snow-belt, had tons of snow. Our favorite trail was after lunch, riding down trail 13. What a blast! The trail itself had about 10" of fresh snow on it, but on each side of the trail there was deep, deep powder that was a blast to plow off into every now and then.
We then got back on the super highway (17) and headed home. By the time I got back to Bradford Point, my odometer read 190 miles.
All-in-all, the trails were absolutely awesome. Certainly the best riding of the year in northern Wisconsin...by far. Even with all the snow, many corners still had ice, so need to be careful.
