After a rough weekend of very warm temperatures, we received some much needed snow on Saturday night and Sunday.  I measured about 6.5" in my driveway.

I took a short ride this afternoon to see how the trails looked after the snowfall.  Rode a total of about 35 miles.  Basically did a loop from Big St. Germain Lake west on 70; to 11s; to 51n; to 6e into Sayner and then over to Lost Lake; finally back to Big St. Germain.  Since I was coming back via Lost Lake I, of course, had to make a quick stop at Murmuring Waters.

** There was a large tree down and completely blocking the trail on trail 6, just west of Sayner.  It was way too large for me to move by myself.  Hopefully the groomer will have a chainsaw to clear it.  Fortunately it is on a straight-away...if it was on a turn it would be very dangerous.  In any case, be careful.

In summary I would give the trails a 6or7 out of 10.  There was plenty of snow on all trails and they are definitely rideable and worth riding, but there were still quite a few bumps and several icey corners.  Both of these conditions were to be expected after the low snow conditions of the weekend.  I expect a couple nights of the groomers doing their magic will bring the trails up to an 8.  The area is expecting a couple more inches of snow on Tuesday night which will, of course help.
